Good-bye 2009

It seems weird to be doing a year end post. It doesn't seem like another year should be over.

It certainly has been an interesting one. This time last year the buses were on strike and getting anywhere was a challenge. I hear one outside the building right now so besides the route changes that started a few months ago that is all back to normal.

This year saw us say good-bye to a member of our furry family

and an addition

I manged to hit a Roller derby, got together with friends to play pool, and actually dressed up for Halloween. Things I haven't done since I was a teen.

My progress on the health front continued. I actually joined a gym, something totally different for me. As a child exercise and gym class were hated.

I find I don't mind going and doing a walk, even miss it when I don't go.

I also joined Dani and Todd for the Run for the cure in October. I was pleased with my time and hope to do better next year.
I still have a ways to go with the weight loss, but I think the end is in sight. Well, the getting there part, next will be keeping it off.

Stitching

There were tons of stitching get togethers this year. All of them filled with good friends and food. Oh, and I guess we did some stitching as well.

I restarted Earthdancer, which is going much better with it's new fabric choice. I also realized that I have way too many pieces on the go and want to address them so there's no new group start tomorrow. Instead we agreed that we should work on finishing off pieces, either other stitch alongs or things that are WIPs or UFOs.
I also decided that the wedding piece I choose is too much work and will be replaced with a new piece. I've ordered everything but it hasn't arrived. I think it's been caught in the Christmas mail rush.

So that's been 2009.

I think tomorrow I'll look ahead to next year and set some goals.

Happy New Year everyone
