Blown Away

On the way home tonight I was almost blown away. The wind if very high, and has been most of the day. The good thing is that the temperature went up so it wasn't too cold. It's suppose to die down over night.

Here's this week's progress on the bear cub. Still working on the corner.

Now for something totally NOT stitching related (you’ve been warned…)

Six months ago I did something for me – something that I was putting off and couldn’t really decide on how to start.

What was that?

I started what I hope to be a life change. By changing not only certain ways I was thinking but also other choices the overall plan is to address the weight issue that has plagued me for as long as I can remember. The biggest step in this was joining Weight Watchers. I decided that attending meetings each week wasn't for me but joined on-line instead. This did mean that for the first time ever I had to go and buy a scale. Yikes.

Here's a picture of me from six months ago, it's from the group picture at the Knowledge and Needles August Retreat. I really hate having my picture taken- stupid facial nerve….

Today, there’s about 40 pounds less of me. Here’s a really bad picture – my camera hates me

I can’t really say what you’ll be hearing about this journey in the future – maybe a little, maybe a lot. Like this week I might have bragged that despite having cake and marshmallow square while at Ann's I still managed to loose a pound this week. Little things might pop in, it will be hit and miss.

One last thing: no one does something like this alone –

So I want to thank the girls at work for their support – even if it was only to move the chip bag away to the other side of the table

The parents (even though I’m annoyed at Dad for figuring out I was up to something because I only had 1 egg instead of 2 at breakfast, I mean really Dad??)

And most importantly:

Dani for being my cheerleader, for helping me figure out what to eat when I hadn’t had enough points and it was 8 o’clock, for being my personal shopper and all the other things I’m too lazy to type out…. hope you're up to the next six months...I couldn't have made it this far without you

YEA CHRISTIN! I knew you were on the path to this and I'm so glad you have had such great success. I'm in a holding pattern at the moment (trying but life gets in the way) which is better than going up! Can't wait to see you next weekend! And you are right DANI is a wonderful cheerleader!!

Congratulations on making such a hard choice for yourself. You're doing amazing! You look wonderful. Keep it up - you can do it!

And make sure you reward yourself with a few new pieces of clothing once in a while that are in your 'new' size, even if it isn't going to be your size forever because you're still losing. You deserve it.
